All About San Dieguito Synchro
San Dieguito Synchro was founded in 2004 by Coach Barbara Strenk to give young athletes the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful sport. We now have over 70 athletes on our roster and we're always looking for more of these enthusiastic swimmers! We are San Diego County's premiere competitive synchronized swimming team.
San Dieguito Synchro is a member of the San Diego Imperial Association of United States Synchronized Swimming, Inc. Our swimmers compete in team, trio, duet and solo events.

| Club Director and Head Coach Danielle Waite
Coach Danielle started her synchro career with the Seattle Synchronized Swim Team and medaled in several national championships. She moved to Santa Clara to train with the Santa Clara Aquamaids, where she medaled in several national and international competitions. She has been a synchro coach for over 7 years with Seattle Synchro, Santa Clara Aquamaids, and now with San Dieguito Synchro for the last 3 years.
Her coaching philosophy has always been that she’s not only coaching synchronized swimmers, she’s constructing young women. Her hard work, determination, passion for synchro, and love of children has led her to coach several national champions with the Santa Clara Aquamaids, and hopefully lead to more champions at SDS.
Danielle’s goal is to help all swimmers achieve their dreams no matter how big or small. Even if their goal is to make a new friend, she’s here to make that happen. She earned her teaching credential at SDSU and is working on a master degree in special education. She’s taught elementary school the past few years and often compares the classroom to the pool and her students to her swimmers. She’s always making sure every child is learning by doing everything she can to help each individual and most importantly, always smiling. It is her hope that she will make a positive impact on each and every one of San Dieguito Synchro’s swimmers.

Coach Jenna Whitley
Coach Jenna was San Dieguito Synchro's first assistant coach, joining our staff in 2007! She coaches both our novice and intermediate swimmers, assists at our synchro summer camps, and has a long history in competitive aquatics.
Coach Megan Orrell
Coach Megan joined the San Dieguito Synchro staff in 2007. She began her synchro career in 1996 with the Sacramento Synchronized Swim Team, competing with the team during high school. Megan swam for Ohio State University's varsity synchro team for four years, capturing two Collegiate National Championship titles! Since then, she has coached everything from beginner's summer clinics to Age group /Jr. teams, figures and elements.
